New BJOHNS website launched
Posted on 2020-08-16Welcome to a new chapter of Bengal Journal of Otolaryngology and Head Neck Surgery {BJOHNS}.
The journal team is proud to announce the launch of our new website – the address remains the same [bjohns.in] but the experience will be miles ahead.
The new website incorporates new web technologies, the most striking being the responsive interface. This means that the website will have a fluid layout and adjust as per the device you are using, making it user friendly to browse the site on your mobile or your tab.
It has a vibrant new look to change with the times but maintains the basic principles of academic publishing for which it has been appreciated since inception.
We are proud to announce that ALL articles from April, 2015, onwards, i.e., since the date the journal was relaunched in its new avatar, have now been allotted DIGITAL OBJECT IDENTIFIERS or DOIs. So, if you have had an article published with us, search for it on the new website and add its DOI on your CV – that link now permanently belongs to your research. DOIs will also be allotted prospectively for all publications henceforth.
In keeping with global standards of publishing, we are proud to announce that our journal issues since 2015 are now a part of the LOCKSS ("Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe") project, which has been developed under the auspices of Stanford University. The main goal of the project is digital preservation. So, your research is now virtually immortal in the world of digital publishing.
The website also incorporates ORCID (orcid.org) IDs automaticallynow. If you have one, please add them to your profile. If you do not have one, it is advisable to register for this free id and use it across your research work.
In view of the current trends in open access publishing, we have been compelled to start Article Processing Charges {amounting to Rupees Five thousand only, presently} for all articles accepted for publication. However, submission is totally free and all articles remain open access for easy dissemination of research work while the review process by peers will remain robust irrespective of financial payments.
As with anything new, there might be difficulties using the new website. While extreme care has been taken to migrate users, articles and submissions from the old system, some users might have difficulty logging in. Please try to reset your password using the “Forgot Your Password” link in that case. If you still have difficulty logging in, please contact our team at editor@bjohns.in and we would be happy to help.
If you still see the old website when you go to https://bjohns.in or www.bjohns.in, please clear your browser cache to delete remnant files.
We hope you like the new experience and will provide us feedback at editor@bjohns.in for further improvement.
Best wishes,
The BJOHNS Team
